The narrative poem, In the Wake of Dreams, is based on personal dreams dreamed between age 9 and age 70. While copying the recorded dreams I was surprised to find that the most memorable ones seemed to echo our collective memory. Curious whether dreams had some mythical story to tell, I grouped them by subject matter.
The unexpected link to humanity at large sustained my interest in this work. Having no inclination to interpret or analyze the dreams, I took them as raw material to be shaped. Caught in the narrative drift imagination took liberties—combined dreams to round out an episode or sharpen the impression a certain dream had left in memory.
This is a re-write of In the Wake of Dreams, published by iUniverse Authors Choice Press in 2001.
